The William Bruce Lectures in the City of New York are an annual, non-profit public lecture series dedicated to disseminating academic scholarship and advancing public knowledge.

Our lectures feature recognized academic experts who are invited to give a public lecture in New York City on a topic of their choice within the fields of history, philosophy, literature, or religion.

The lectures are scholarly, non-denominational and open to all. They are named in honor of the Reverend William Bruce (1799-1882), a Scottish scholar, exegete and New Church minister.

The inaugural William Bruce Lecture took place at Barnard College, Columbia University on 01 July 2026. Our next Fall lecture will take place in November 2026, more information to come soon.
